FedEx Cargo Plane Makes Emergency Landing at Newark After Engine Fire

A FedEx cargo aircraft had to make an emergency landing at Newark Liberty International Airport when one of its engines caught fire shortly after departure.

Eyewitness footage from the ground captured flames coming from the engine as the plane flew overhead. Flight tracking data indicates the aircraft was in the air for around nine minutes before safely returning to the airport.

According to airport officials, the fire was caused by a bird strike. Air traffic was briefly suspended as a safety precaution, but authorities have confirmed that normal operations have now resumed.
